Flight cancellation is no longer an easy task these days. With changing policies of airlines, most of us still get confused and panic when it comes to cancelling our flight reservation. But, there’s no need to worry as here we provide you the quick and complete information on Delta flight cancellations. Let’s get started!!
As per Delta 24 hours cancellation policy, cancellation of all fare types (Including Basic economy fare) are free of charge within 24 hours of booking, provided that the booking is made directly either on Delta website or mobile app. Before Covid, Delta used to charge a cancellation fee of $100-$200, if the tickets were cancelled after 24 hours of booking. But, the situation is different now. If you have booked your flight before 30 March 2021, then no cancellation or change fee will be charged even after 24 hours of booking and the ticket amount can be used for future travel of up to one year. But Basic economy fare booked after 30 April 2021 is unchangeable and non-refundable after 24 hours of booking.
Considering the volatile situation of Covid, Delta is not charging any cancellation or change fee on the flights that were booked between 17 April 2020 and 31 March 2021 and valid for one year from the original date of purchase. But for flights that are booked after 31 March 2021, airlines might charge some fee for cancelling a flight after 24 hours of booking.
Well, if a travel agent has booked your flight, then you must contact the agent to carry out the cancellation procedure. And if the flight was booked offline via phone call or at the airport then cancellation must be done offline. Moreover, if the booking was made online either on Delta website or Delta app then the steps below will help you cancel your ticket quickly within 7 minutes!!
